Pre-emergent herbicides are very effective at controlling undesirable weeds and plants before they even come up. These herbicides work by inhibiting root development and work for many of the weeds we see throughout the southwest including crabgrass, kochia, knotweed, foxtail and other common weeds.
Pre-emergent herbicides work best in early to mid-spring, although you can adjust you target date for application based on your yard conditions. Different weeds germinate at different times, so even if you’ve missed the ideal target date, the pre-emergents can still work for the later germinating weeds.
Pest Defense Solutions now offers a two-step weed application to rock landscape. The first step is a pre-emergent herbicide application. The second step is an application to target any weeds that germinated prior to the application.
